Who Am I?
Hi there! My name is Autumn Mulcahy and I have been in the mental health field for four years now.
I graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a bachelor’s in psychology in 2017, and then graduated from Southern Oregon University with a master’s in clinical mental health counseling in 2021. Before graduating and switching to mental health counseling I worked as an ABA therapist with kids 6 and under.
Starting in 2019 I extended the population I work with and now work with ages 25 and under about all issues. I love the work I do, and I’ve known since I was a kid I was going to be a therapist. Telehealth wasn’t the full time route I intended but in seeing how it gives opportunities to seek help for people who normally wouldn’t be able to, I’ve learned to love it.
If i’m not working you can normally find me at home watching movies, reading books, or playing video games with my fiancé. I also love camping and anything that has to do with the woods. Something to know about me is that i’m OBSESSED with my cats so you will see them during our session sometimes, as they like to make appearances.
I won’t sugarcoat it — therapy can be hard. I will ask you to put the work in and make sure you are committed to your goals. Therapy doesn’t work unless you do. And trust me, it works. Working with kids takes commitment, so if you are a parent it will take work on your part as well. The undesired behaviors can be linked back to home in a lot of cases with young children, so that is something I am passionate about making sure parents follow through with. As long as you are willing to put in effort, I am willing to meet you wherever you are at.
